ADVANCE CENTRAL COLLEGE PROFILE

The school started as a local internet provider and internet café in San Jose, Antique in 1999.  Internet providing was not viable then, so the Internet Café extended its services as Computer for Kids Activity Center and as a desktop publishing office that produced computer print-out programs, stickers, posters and provided encoding services.

Founded on the commitment to make Computer Education accessible and affordable, a Non-Stock and Non-Profit Corporation was set up under the name Antique Computer Center (ACC) and conducted Computer tutorial lessons to college students and professionals.

ACC filed an application to the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) for accreditation of its programs and course.  The Computer Secretarial, Computer Programming and Computer Technician courses were issued permits by TESDA through the Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation (UTPRAS) in 2000.

To continue its response to the need of the community and in its efforts to provide relevant trainings, ACC opened the Seafarer Course Major in Stewarding during the Academic Year 2000-2001.

The year 2001 was significant to ACC as it started to render community services in the different High Schools in Antique.  It was during that year too that the Board of Trustees decided to rename the school as Advance Central College to establish it as a formal educational institution.  Before that year ended, the Securities and Exchange Commission issued a Registration Certificate bearing the name, Advance Central College, Inc.

In 2003, ACC responded to another growing demand by opening the One Year Caregiver Course. During that year, the One-Year Hotel and Restaurant Services (HRS) and the Two-Year Ladderized Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Services (HRTS) courses were also offered.  It was noteworthy that the opening of HRTS gave ACC the distinction as the Pioneer institution that offers Ladderized Courses in Western Visayas.

In 2007, ACC made a Memorandum of Agreement with the Central Philippine University that established the Twinning Program.  Under this contract, the Ladderized Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) and the Ladderized Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management (BSHRM) courses were opened.  In the same year too, the construction of the six storey building was started in response to the growing student population.

In the year 2009, ACC opened its doors to one thousand five hundred (1500) scholars of the Competency-based Programs under the Pangulong Gloria Scholarship (PGS) Fund.  Both the young Antiqueños and professionals availed of the free trainings on Barista, Food and Beverage Services NC II, Computer Hardware Servicing NC II and Commercial Cooking NC II.

The year 2010 was significantly marked by the approval of the Commission on Higher Education the full Government Recognition of the program Two-Year Midwifery and Initial Permits to offer the First level and Second Level of the Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management.

In November 2011, the Department of Education granted Government Permit to operate the Secondary Level.  April of 2012 marked the grand launching of the ACC Discovery High School as the pioneer in the use of Tablet as learning device in the Province of Antique.  On January 7, 2015, ACC DHS was granted Government Recognition to offer Complete Secondary Education.

It started in the year 2010 that ACC was accredited by TESDA as an Assessment Center for Computer Hardware Servicing NC II and Food and Beverage Services NC II.

In May 2018, the TESDA granted the Certificates of Program Recognition for the three Diploma Programs in Culinary Arts Technology, Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Technology, and Information and Communication Technology. Once again, this gave ACC the distinction as the Pioneer institution that offers three-year Diploma Program in the Province of Antique.
